Hello everyone and welcome!
As you have probably guessed from the username, I am Nikolai Velciov (Nicola or Mikola ;) for short) and these are my personal photos, splendidly showcased by Zenfolio.

UPDATE: As of December 18th, 2008, Zenfolio has added the much expected Comment and Guestbook features.
Comments can only be added on the individual photos you browse (the one that is brought up front from the gallery).
Guestbook entries can be added to the following three distinct sections of the site: the Home page, each individual gallery and each group of galleries.
I am now delighted to activate these features and, seeing as it's a new year out there, I have prepared a set of three new galleries to mark the occasion.

UPDATE: As of June 30th, 2008, Cristian is the proud owner of my first camera, the Sony Alpha 100 DSLR. I am sure that he will have many a happy moment using it.
As of July 1st, 2008, I am the owner of a Canon PowerShot G9 advanced compact digital camera.
Therefore, from this point on, most of the photos on display will be taken with my new camera.

Most of the photos on display are taken using my Sony Alpha 100 DSLR equipped with the standard 18-70 kit lens.
But, as I have painstakingly found out, the camera only accounts for about 5 percent of what makes a good photograph.
As Gary L. Friedman puts it, 95 percent of what makes a good photograph still remains composition and light.
So, if you find any pictures that you particularly like, rest assured that they most likely fall into a category perfectly described by the phrase "sheer dumb luck".
